| Garroorigang is the private home of the Hume family, collateral descendants of explorer Hamilton Hume. Continuously lived in by the related Belcher and Hume families since 1867 the home has passed from generation to generation unchanged allowing visitors to step back in time to the days of the bushrangers and living in the Victorian era.
Life first as an Inn on the road to the gold fields, then for twenty years a private boarding school for the “sons of gentlemen” and a gracious private home since 1868 has left Garroorigang filled with an extraordinary and rare collection of historical items and family memorabilia spanning the past 160 years.The history has been carefully preserved in this historic home.

Family members living in the home provide guided tours for groups and individuals through the homestead telling visitors about the history and the stories behind particular items, giving young and old a remarkable insight into daily life over the past 160 years.
The extensive grounds, filled with majestic trees and beds of lilacs, roses and flowering bulbs set in sweeping lawns, provide a memorable setting for weddings and other events.
